New Beginnings Maternity Home is a unique service for unmarried teen age girls that find them selves facing parenthood. Often they face the moral conflict over abortion and this is a opportunity for life and living choices. New Beginnings concept is not simply another place for teens to come and have their babies. It is a stable, nurturing environment dedicated to helping teens move ahead with their lives by finishing school, acquiring a sense of responsibility, learning to be good parents, and to avoid repeat pregnancies outside of marriage. We believe that one by one, we can help each young woman through a difficult time in their life, offering them positive choices and hope for their future.
New Beginnings Maternity Home is a safe, secure, supervised and structured living environment bound by positive, decent expectations and rules where young women will truly begin to internalize good behavior. Many of these girls need to be taken out of their current circle of friends and environment that got them into the situation they are now in. Leaving them in that environment could mean continued drug and alcohol use during the rest of their pregnancy. If the young woman and her family chooses single parenting, we offer a variety of programs to help prepare her for her future. In all cases, birth mothers will be prepared for childbirth through classes and instruction by our certified childbirth educator and Doula who also helps coach them through the delivery. Their pregnancies will be closely monitored by our licensed Medical Director. Professional counseling will be provided to all the girls. Birth mothers choosing adoption will be encouraged to develop a customized adoption plan for their children as well as for themselves.
